Invitation "Zur Kenntnis genommen" / "Acknowledged"

 

“Zur Kenntnis genommen” (acknowledged), beginning on Wednesday September 22nd at the Pandion “The Grid Cabins” close to U-Moritzplatz in Berlin.

For our project "Zur Kenntnis genommen" (acknowledged) we started an Open Call via E-Mails and social networks, where we invited artists and project space operators worldwide to send us their most urgent concern in these pandemic times. We asked them to do it digitally in DIN A4 format.

We, St. & St., made a performative video in which we “acknowledged” the contributions.

At Pandion “The Grid Cabins” will be the premiere of the video alongside with an exhibition of the printed contributions as well as two room installations from us connected to the topic.

At the Opening we will also host a live-performance by Lan Hungh.

On Saturday, September 25th 2021, Monsieur Franz Ka – via Gedankenschmied-Projekt - will show a sound-performance titled “Wählen Sie zwischen 1 bis 6: #SSMIDD” (Choose between 1 and 6: #SSMIDD).

At the Finissage we will show a live-performance of our own.

The myth of Orpheus / Orphée - fragments of greek mythology in a contemporary exhibition: Guillaume Mathivet, Philippe Marcus, Eli Cornejo, Juan Arata, Lan Hungh & SSMIDD. The parenthesis space parenthesis art project is an ongoing series of ephemera expressions of art by an ever changing crew of second front artists on their way to the top of the illusion. This year the project unfolds in reference to the topic of Orpheus who by means of his deal with the underworld wasn't allowed to look back into the labyrinth until his wife would be free. „Boy and a Ball“

(english version below) Die Kurzfilme führen von der weiten Landschaft Amudas, in den nördlichen kurdischen Gebieten Syriens, über Aleppos bis nach Yarmouk, in das für seine kulturelle Vielfalt bekannte Palästinenserviertel in Damaskus. Einfühlsame Dokumentationen, moderner Tanz, sarkastische Animationen bis hin zu Stop-Motion-Film sind die Genres, mit denen sich die unabhängigen syrischen Filmemacherinnen und Filmemacher gefühlvoll ihrem, von Krieg und Zerstörung gezeichneten Land, nähern. Die Kurzfilme sind kleine Schätze, die uns einen tiefen Einblick in die Lebens- und Vorstellungswelten der Filmemacherinnen und Filmemacher erlauben. Das Kurzfilmprogramm ist nach einem Open-Call von dem syrischen Kulturinstitut Ettijahat. Independent Culture und dem reisenden Kurzfilmfestival Moviemiento e.V. aus Berlin zusammengestellt worden. „Open Gates“, twelve short films from Syria 2014/ 2015  Syria between Arab spring and civil war The short films lead through the wide landscape of Amudas, a place in the Kurdish part of north Syria, to Aleppo and further to Yarmouk, known as a muticultural Palestinian quarter in Damascus. The compilation includes a variation of different approaches of independent Syrian filmmakers depicting a country that faces war and destruction. Empathetic documentation, modern dance, sarcastic animation and stop motion movies are the genres of the movies. Following the short films we get an introduction to the everyday life and the imagination of the film makers. The sellection of the short films based on an open call announced by Ettijahat.
